Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ — 10 Unique Qualities
(Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ) Friends! Today we bring you a topic that is close to the heart of every Muslim — while writing it, my pen kept pausing again and again out of respect, because this is a personality praised from the earth to the sky, whose name Allah joins with His own, at whose gesture the moon split in two, and what can I even say about that magnificent personality, before whom even death asked for permission.
I am speaking of the one who, in just 23 years, brought about such a revolution that where yesterday daughters were buried alive, today the desire arose to cherish them; where yesterday there was slavery, today freedom prevailed; whose enemies too became convinced of his trustworthiness and truthfulness, and whose mercy taught even those who hated him to love.
You must have understood by now that I am speaking of Sayyidul Anbiya, Rahmatul-lil-Aalameen, our beloved Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ. Today we will mention 10 of his unmatched qualities, given to him alone — qualities that no one received before him and no one will receive after him. Things that will touch your heart and deepen your love for the Prophet ﷺ. So let us also take a small share in the love and devotion for our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
1. Allah’s Special Protection
The Prophet ﷺ is the one whose protection Allah Himself took responsibility for. When all his enemies plotted against him, Allah’s word was revealed:
“وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ”
(Al-Ma’idah: 67)
“And Allah will protect you from the people.”
There are many incidents when his life was in danger, yet Allah protected him every single time. Like the incident when, during a journey, the Prophet ﷺ was resting alone under a tree, away from his companions, when suddenly he saw a bedouin standing over him with a sword, saying, “Who will save you from me now?” The Prophet ﷺ calmly replied, “Allah.” As soon as he said this, the sword fell from the man’s hand, and he began to tremble. This was Allah’s special favor, reserved only for the Noble Prophet ﷺ.
2. True Vision in Dreams
If you see someone in a dream, it may not actually be that person — Shaytan can take on anyone’s appearance in a dream. But what can be said of Muhammad Rasulullah ﷺ, whose appearance in a dream is exactly like reality — there can be no deception in it, because Shaytan can take the form of anyone else, but not that of our Prophet ﷺ, because:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me,
for Shaytan cannot take my form.”
Allah Ta’ala gave him such honor that seeing him in a dream became reality itself. Shaytan can take anyone else’s form in a dream, but never that of the Noble Prophet ﷺ — what greatness this is, granted to no other prophet.
3. Addressing Him With Respect
When we speak of the Prophet’s ﷺ greatness, we also recall the command Allah Ta’ala gave us in Surah An-Nur:
لَا تَجْعَلُوا دُعَاءَ الرَّسُولِ بَيْنَكُمْ كَدُعَاءِ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًا
“O believers, do not address the Messenger the way you address one another.” (An-Nur: 63)
This command is proof that Allah gave him a special status and honor, and taught his Ummah that whenever addressing the Prophet ﷺ, one must never forget the boundaries of respect.
4. The Special Status of “Ummahatul Mu’mineen”
The Prophet’s ﷺ wives were given the title “Ummahatul Mu’mineen” — the mothers of the believers — meaning his wives are the mother of every member of his Ummah. This was a purity and special status given only to his wives. It was not possible for any man to marry any of his ﷺ wives after him, which is proof of their pure and elevated status.
5. Permission Sought for His Death
When, at the end, the time came for the Noble Prophet ﷺ to pass away, Allah Ta’ala commanded Hazrat Jibra’il (AS) to seek the Prophet’s ﷺ permission for his death. Hazrat Jibra’il (AS) came and delivered the message: “Your Lord’s command has come — do you give permission?” This was a unique honor and respect — that even death came asking, and sought his ﷺ consent before his soul was taken.
6. He Led All the Prophets in Prayer
On the night of Isra and Mi’raj, Hazrat Jibra’il (AS) came to take the Noble Prophet ﷺ on a journey through the heavens to meet Allah, but before ascending to the heavens, he was first taken to Baitul Maqdis (Masjid al-Aqsa), where the Prophet ﷺ led all the other prophets in prayer. This incident shows his status even among all the prophets, and because of it he ﷺ holds the title “Imam-ul-Anbiya” — the leader of all prophets.
7. The Promise to Protect the Quran
Allah Ta’ala Himself took responsibility for protecting the Quran, the book revealed to the Noble Prophet ﷺ, saying: “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Reminder (the Quran), and indeed, We will be its guardian” (Al-Hijr: 9). This is why every verse of the Quran remains preserved today exactly as Allah revealed it — while previous scriptures, revealed to other prophets, had their protection entrusted to people, and that protection could not be fully maintained.
8. A Prophet for Both Mankind and Jinn
All the prophets before the Noble Prophet ﷺ were sent for a specific place or region — no one before him carried the responsibility of guiding all of humanity. But when Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ came, he was sent not only for all of mankind but was also given leadership in guiding the jinn. He ﷺ invited both creations — mankind and jinn — to Islam, which is great proof of the vastness of his prophethood.
9. He Will Intercede First on the Day of Judgment
On the Day of Judgment, every prophet will have a status for their own Ummah, but Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ will be given a special status — “Liwa-ul-Hamd,” the banner of praise. On that day, when humanity’s reckoning takes place and every Ummah goes to their own prophet hoping for intercession, a unique status will be given to the Noble Prophet ﷺ that no one else will receive.
It is that Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ will be the first prophet to intercede for his Ummah. Moreover, the Day of Judgment’s proceedings will begin with his ﷺ intercession — meaning no other Ummah’s reckoning can be decided before his intercession.
10. The First to Enter Jannah
Now, when every status is already at its highest, his flag raised above all — even in Jannah, the greatness of the Noble Prophet ﷺ will be such that he will be the first to enter it. He ﷺ said: “On the Day of Judgment, I will be the first to knock on the door of Jannah, and it will be opened for me.” This shows that Allah Ta’ala has granted him the highest status even in Jannah.
All these qualities remind us of the honor of our beloved master, the Intercessor of sinners, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ, and his exalted status before Allah. We should all love him ﷺ, follow his Sunnah, and pray that on the Day of Judgment, Allah Ta’ala grants us water from his blessed hand at the Hawd-e-Kausar. May Allah grant us the ability to follow in his ﷺ footsteps. Ameen.
